The Asahina's Shame and Tactician

L5R CCG Rules board, 27 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

According to the Rulebook, tactician is an ability granted to the personality, and following the logic of the ruling of tactician and the Shadowed Estate, wouldn't the Asahina's shame stop the tactician ability like The Shadowed Estate would?

Edited below-

The PDF for ivory Rules changes located here:

States that "Tactician: works the same but is now an ability granted by the rules to the Tactician Personality rather than a player ability. It cannot be copied or removed."

Which is why I stated my question to the way i did to begin with, and still leaves me wanting further clarification as to whether or not its ability can be shut down by the Asahina's Shame.

Can you please show me where in the rulebook does it refer to the Tactical Advantage ability as "granted"? Because I'm pretty sure we've never said that.

What we actually wrote is:

This ability is not printed on the Tactician and cannot be removed or copied from him or her.

Which means it's not "on" the Tactician, it's on the Rulebook, and Asahina's Shame can't affect those.
