Tankoji vs Come one at a time

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Hi again,

When my opponent has a Come one at a Time terrain, with one unbowed defender, that one defender gains the ability to repeatedly challenge an attacker. Can Tankoji target said one defender, preventing him from issuing challenges to my Tankoji carrying personality?

Basically, does a card that gave an ability to another card (in a unit) count as being from the original card (in this case Come one at a time) or does it count as being from the card the ability is given to when looking at Tankoji's action?

Tankoji: Battle, bow: Actions from cards in a target Personality's unit may not target cards in this unit.

Thank you again!

Abilities granted to cards come now "from" the card they're currently on. It's one of the exceptions of the definition of "from" (Reference Rulebook, Pg 22). Tankoji can offer protection against a defender with the Repeatable Battle ability granted by Come One at a Time.
