Discipline & Transferring

L5R CCG Rules board, 12 February 2014 to 13 February 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

So I've been out of the game for a while, and Ivory (thankfully) sucked me back in. I've been searching the forums looking for a few clarifications but no luck. Couple questions for ya:

1) The new trait "Discipline" -- can you play a card with this trait from your hand, and then use it's discard pile ability in the same turn (assuming you meet/pay all the costs)?

2) Does the player Transfer ability still exist in Ivory? By that I mean are you able to transfer an attachment in play from one of your personalities in play to another, paying all costs and meeting all requirements? And if so, is the card being transferred bowed after the transfer?

Thanks for the help! Definitely looking forward to the Ivory arc!

Not in the same turn. The Tracking Rule still has your card remembering it has been used per turn, and the "once per turn" limit still applies. You must wait for a later turn in order to re-use a Discipline (unless it's Repeatable, but I don't think any one is)

The player "Transfer" ability was removed a couple of arcs ago and it also doesn't exist in Ivory. You need specific cards with transferring effects in order to rearrange your attachments.
