Bayushi Nitoshi exp and Political Standoff - Continued

L5R CCG Rules board, 7 February 2014 to 8 February 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

In regards to this post (http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=106816)

Wouldn't the person who controls the Bayushi Nitoshi exp gain 3 tokens and not the person who does not control him?

Using the same clause from last time: "Political Standoff" After a player gains Honor, or any of his opponents lose Honor from the rulebook or cards they do not own, give him an equal number of Influence tokens. A player who begins his turn with 50 or more Influence tokens wins the game. This Event will not be discarded from play, nor have its effects prevented.

Emphasis Mine.

As such, the opponent (lets say Player B) does not control Nitoshi exp and loses honor from said card. Player B does not control Bayushi Nitoshi exp, and as such, wouldn't Player A (controller of Bayushi Nitoshi exp) be the on to get the tokens and NOT Player B?

Thanks

Precisely, that's why I said that it only satisfies the clause from one player's point of view. Since the OP quoted the event only partially it would seem I said something different, but of course I meant that only Nitoshi's owner would get the tokens, and the other player not.
