Followup on Ring of Earth/0F armies

L5R CCG Rules board, 14 January 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Regarding this post: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=106478

AEG Rules Team answered (partially) that: "a 0F unit vs. an empty army is not a Win, nor a Loss or a Tie even"

What IS the result of that battle, if it's not a win, a loss, or a tie? Is there a resolution at all, since those three are the only resolution states I'm familiar with?

It has been suggested to me by a friend that the outcome of the battle is unknowable, since the 0F personality had been observed during the resolution. Is this true?

In a battle with a 0F personality vs. an empty army, is my 0F personality - in fact - both dead and alive until the resolution of the battle?
