A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

When a Personality wearing the Ancestral Armor of the Crane Clan Lobbies for the Imperial Favor, do they have to be successful in Lobbying to gain Honor from the Item's trait?
Edit: Can you be more helpful? Lobbying is not in the Ivory rules book that was produced. I can't respond to this thread to clarify my question.

There is no such game term or state as "successful".

The thing you're hypothetizing here simply doesn't exist, that's why we can't be more helpful. Either you Lobby, or you don't. If you have more Family Honor than any other player, you may Lobby, and in that case you get the benefits, including the Ancestral Armor gain. If you don't have more Family Honor, you just can't Lobby. At all.
