The Law's Strength + Redirect

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 March 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If you redirect The Law's Strength, would the original target still die from not going home or would the whole card effect target a new personality.

Battle: Choose your performing Courtier or Magistrate and target a Personality: Move him home. If this did not move him home, destroy him.

Thank you.

The Law's Strength will not destroy the original intended target.

Choosing a target happens just before the actual targeting, and thus a change of targeting by redirection never actually ends up targeting the original choice.
