Incense Mill force negation

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 November 2012 to 24 November 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 21 November 2012

Incense Mill says: "Battle/Open: Target a Personality: Negate all current Force penalties on him. Negate any cards' effects that say he may not perform actions (this turn)."

As per this ruling, I use Incense Mill as my first action during my turn, and any future occurrences of Hotako will be negated. http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=100339

I just want clarification that the force penality negation is NOT for future occurrences since the wording uses the keyword "current" (underlined above).

Is this correct?

Yes. Incense Mill will only negate current force penalties, but will negate both current and new effects "that say he may not perform actions".
