A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Togashi Noboru's battle action says "the Target's Force contributes to (your) army's total Force instead of his controller's"

Say my personality is targeted with this ability. If he dies, bows or goes home so that it would be impossible for him to contribute force to my army, would his force total still be added to my opponent's army? I'm just wondering it the "instead of" implies he only contributes force to my opponent's army while he would normally contribute to mine or if it's just a permanent force boost after it is used.

Battle: Target an enemy Personality with lower Chi: Noboru pushes him to a new path. While you have at least one unit in your current army, the target's Force contributes to that army's total Force instead of his controller's.

P.S. As an FYI, there's still an announcement thread saying No SoD questions.

"instead of" is the key phrase. The Personality will only contribute Force to your army when it would normally contribute Force to your opponent's army.
