all cards shown return to deck in original order (no shuffling or whatever)?

Correct
@kempy_nezumi Yep, Don's right. Only an explicit "search" triggers a reshuffle per the Rules, which is different from a consecutive "show"ing, as above. Also, in double-checking this in the CR, I discovered that a double-f ("ff") in the CR PDF is some sort of odd code unto itself, so I couldn't search for "shuffle" by typing it in the search; I had to find it in the text and CTRL-C it into the Search box. Just FYI.
@Brook Cunningham its weird, because "ff" in titles is searchable. thankfully old page is still in wayback machine, so i will render it again into pdf. https://web.archive.org/web/20160305023326/http://rules.alderac.com/cr_for_20f
it's done and it works now. new version on dropbox
Gajin Sorcerer that wears both Sezaru's Mask and Incense of Concentrations counts as how many Shugenjas while performing Ritual?
Sorcerer or Kazushi
I think it's a nuance of the wording, and you wouldn't get 2x2x2 Shugenja, you'd just get 2x.
And that's because each say they "counts as two", instead of "counts as twice the number of Shugenja he presently counts as", or something awkwardly worded like that.
Yes, a total of just 2 shugenja.
If it didn't work that way, someone (probably a mid-tier player) would have managed to make some insane combo deck with odds lower than a national lottery, that pulled it off and somehow made 2x2x2x2x2x2 (or thereabouts) Shugenja out of one, and cast some annoying spell, and declared the game broken.
#JustL5RThings
@Brook Cunningham I'm not sure you're rewording of Incense of Concentration's attachment condition works...
As soon as it's attached to a Shugenja, it immediately destroys itself.
Also: Gaijin Sorcerer doesn't work with most Rituals.
Do more recent rule book state that if attachment conditions become invalid they somehow destroy themselves?
Hm
And I assume the comment about gaijin sorcerer not working with most rituals is because most of them state "other" shugenja?
No, it's because he says, "While your ritual is resolving"
Ie, not generally when targeting, or paying costs, unless these are done during the Resolve Effects step.
So he works with Sleep, but not many others (if any?)
Ahh, right.
Was that intentional?
@Alex Jones Did Don's question in response to your critique of the attaching trait make you reconsider? a player Haha, yeah, I would say it was intentional-ish, since the only Ritual that has the same legality bugging as the Gaijin Sorcerer IS Sleep (and they were designed together as promos)! He was probably designed with the idea of making more Rituals in Ivory that were worded like Sleep, then Design decided to remove Rituals entirely.
@kempy_nezumi Also, I agree with Alex and @saaam that it's just two Shugenja counts total, and for some added clarity as to why, consider an effect that lets you use an ability "twice" or "a second time" in a turn; mulitple applications of that effect would not let you use the ability three (or more) times.
What was the ruling wrt Incense of Concentration and Oni no Chi?
(And other Rituals that destroy the performing Shugenja)
Hm. Some Rituals have Ritual as a keyword, and some as part of the text...
It would be useful it that could be cleaned up...
Right. I have fixed Sleep, which now has Sleep as a keyword.
Yeah, the fact that some keywords are in the keyword section and some are just in the text is something I've noted (to myself) that needs fixing. Did you mean now it has "Ritual" as a keyword? (EDIT: checks the Oracle change log Well, that was a silly question on my part. Of course that's what you meant; it was the whole point of your post.)
Oh, and as for your question about Oni no Chi and Incense of Concentration, I don't recall contemporary rulings on the matter, but since they're from the same set, it seems to me they were intended to work together.
However, I think my wording of Incense works nicely in this case; as soon as you know that the Shugenja is performing the Ritual, during targeting/performing, it's a triggered trait that goes off, thus its effects will still linger and apply even if he dies before the rest of the Ritual kicks in. Agree?
Ok, so Incense of Concentration works, but Gaijin Sorcerer doesn't.
Or does his trait work even while he's out of play because it applies to him?
G Sorcerer could probably use some errata to work with something other than Sleep, since as I implied above, he was designed with zero hindsight and poor foresight.
